Real Estate Professional
Steve Healy remembers a lot of dinner conversations about real estate growing up. His mother has been a Realtor in Greenwich since he was in middle school and his father is an electrician with a fondness for construction, engineering and architecture. Steve and his brother—both Realtors—inherited their parents’ passion for houses.
Steve has been a life-long Greenwich resident and his family tree can be traced back to some of the town’s earliest founding families. He made a name for himself in Greenwich as a stand out goalie for Greenwich High School on a team that won two FCIAC hockey championships. He was an FCIAC tournament MVP and team MVP and also received honors from the state.
There are correlations between being a successful Realtor and a winning goalie. “You have to be able to see around corners and anticipate what’s going to happen; then you have to be ready and in position when it does,” he says.
Being handy and understanding the bones and inner workings of a house have helped Steve guide his clients to making good decisions. “It’s important to be able to identify which repairs will be imminent when considering a property,” he explains. Steve believes that understanding both modern building techniques and older construction methods are equally important. “I can tell where costs were cut and what that might mean to my clients,” he says.
Steve enjoys the challenge of helping buyers find not only the right home but also the right neighborhood within Greenwich. This is when being a local is extremely helpful. He notes, “I know which areas are prone to flooding, the traffic patterns, school systems, the personality and special appeal of every neighborhood.”
He prides himself on being a skillful negotiator with deep knowledge of home values in every section of Greenwich that comes from being around local real estate his whole life.
Listing your home with Steve offers you the ally you need in today’s real estate market place. He can offer both peace of mind and personalized assistance that many agents aren’t willing or able to offer.
Looking to rent at first? Steve has deep experience in area rental properties as well.
“Listening is one of the most critical tools Realtors can have,” he honestly believes. “Realtors have to pay close attention to what clients are trying to accomplish. It’s the most important investment in people’s lives, and it’s crucial to understand that.”
Although always available to his clients, Steve, in his free time, can be found at a sporting event, concert, traveling, or around town with his wife and school-age daughters in the place they call home.
