Shawn spent 23 years in local television, working in marketing and promotion for WXIA-TV, Atlanta's NBC affiliate, where she earned several Emmy awards from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

Shawn joined a leading real estate firm in the Metro Atlanta area in June of 2008. In her first year in residential real estate, Shawn was named the 'Rookie of the Year' for her outstanding performance in her inaugural year. She has been named to the Atlanta REALTORS® Association Top Producers each year in the business.

Family
The daughter of a Navy pilot and a real estate consultant, Shawn grew up in Marietta, Georgia, and attended Sprayberry High School along with her three siblings.

She attended the University of Georgia where she received a bachelor's degree in journalism from the Henry W. Grady School of Journalism with a business minor from the Terry School of Business. Shawn was a cheerleader for the Georgia Bulldogs for two years while in college, during what some would call the most exciting eras for both their football and basketball programs. A National Championship title for the football team was won during her sophomore year, and Dominique Wilkins led the basketball program to new heights, including a trip to compete in the National Invitational Tournament in New York!

Community
Shawn is an active member of the Cathedral of Christ the King where she serves as a Eucharistic Minister and formerly as a Stephen Minister. Shawn served on the school board for Christ the King School and assisted them with their web, PR and advertising efforts. Her family is also actively involved with St. Pius X Catholic High School. Shawn is married to Sant Perez with whom she has two grown children, Katie and Mary Rose.
