Peter Darnell

Licensed Real Estate Salesperson

As a native New Yorker, and homeowner in the Park Slope area for over 30 years, Peter Darnell is keenly attuned to city living. As a former award-winning art director for Fortune 500 firms, he has deep expertise in the visual arts and design. Peter brings that unique combination of skills to his role as a real estate professional for Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International, guiding prospective buyers and renters in their quest to find that perfect home in New York City, while helping them to envision the aesthetic potential of each property.
Working with everyone from seasoned buyers searching for that quintessential Brooklyn townhouse to borough newcomers looking for a charming pied-à-terre, Peter builds meaningful relationships through real estate, sharing insights about the area’s architectural significance, cultural vitality, and historic neighborhoods. He pours that passion into high-end marketing campaigns too, whether attaining a favorable price for his sellers or locating the dream home that meets his buyers' lifestyle and exceeds their wish lists.
Peter specializes in sales and rentals of co-ops, condos, single and multi-family brownstones, leveraging his personal ownership experience for market insight and negotiating skills. He extends his established industry relationships to further support clients’ needs and is a Certified Negotiation Expert and REBNY member.
Peter's personal commitment to the transforming neighborhood of Gowanus led him to pioneer Daniel Gale Sotheby's International Realty's sponsorship of Arts Gowanus in 2023, making it the first and only real estate agency in Brooklyn to achieve this level of support. This agency-wide effort underscores DGSIR’s dedication to giving back to the local community.
Peter holds a BFA from Hunter College and an M.S. in Communication Design from Pratt Institute and has studied at several other institutions, including the Art Students League of New York and the Institute de Touraine in France. When he’s not immersed in gallery events in Park Slope, Gowanus, Red Hook, Sunset Park, Chelsea, Soho, or the Upper East Side, you'll find Peter sipping an Americano at one of Brooklyn's cool coffee shops, checking out the neighborhood’s newest tapas restaurant, or perhaps joining friends and neighbors for a glass of Nebbiolo or Bordeaux at a local wine bar.
