Real Estate Professional

I moved to coastal Carolina in 1999 with my husband, Darrell Wiard; where we enjoy all aspects of waterfront living. I have lived, cruised and sailed almost all of the East Coast and the ICW (including extensive time in Long Island, Florida and the Keys), most of the Caribbean, and selected areas of the West Coast and Mexico. Although there is much to like in these areas, I feel my decision to live and work in Coastal Carolina was the best decision I could make.
My expertise is in quality waterfront residential properties of the Inner Banks of North Carolina (towns of New Bern and Oriental) and coastal communities of Beaufort, Atlantic Beach, and Morehead City, all in Carteret county. In the “Inner Banks” we offer tens of thousands of square miles of coastal cruising and waterfront living without the direct exposure to the open ocean that one might experience living on the beach. We chose Oriental, NC as our home because it is the “Sailing Capitol” of NC. For many years we campaigned a Pearson Ensign in one-design racing, winning the Oriental Cup in our class before retiring from active racing.

I work as a team with my husband, Darrell Wiard, who also has an extensive knowledge of many of the coastal areas of the East Coast. With my assistance, he also is an excellent agent.

I attended Kansas State University, and have worked in commercial real estate and residential real estate, as well as using my accounting education for over 10 years as controller and accounting supervisor for an international manufacturing company in Kansas City.

In Pamlico County, in addition to my work experience; I have been a director and board member of Hospice, Pamlico County Arts Council, and The Old Theatre Corporation, which is a non-profit corporation and offers plays, musicals, Friday night movies and other events. I was honored to be President of the Board for Old Theatre Corp for 4 years.
The Inner Banks is a great place to live and enjoy the water. We sail, cruise, fish, crab, shrimp, grow oysters, and many days just sit on our dock at sunset, sip a Mount Gay and take in the scenery. I hope I can help you find your spot in Coastal Carolina.
