Monica, who goes by Micki, moved to Kauai in 1979. Originally from New York, she has also lived in Vermont, Maine, Mexico and Guam. With a degree in French literature, she is not quite sure how she ended up in the middle of the Pacific. She is married to her high school sweetheart, Bill, a pediatrician and former CEO of Wilcox Hospital and Kauai Medical Clinic. They have 4 grown kids, all of whom have returned to Kauai to live. Yoga, drawing and reading keep her barely sane. Micki has been an active real-estate agent since 1984 and was one of the former owners of Sleeping Giant Sotheby's International Realty. That combined with forty years of living on the island gives her a wealth of experience in both real estate and the ins and outs of living on Kauai. As an artist/designer, she recognizes diamonds in the rough and finds properties of exceptional beauty and value, often overlooked by others. A home she remodeled was named by Conde Nast Travel Magazine as one of the five best vacation rentals in Hawaii. She currently is also the founder and co-owner of KIKO, a lifestyle store in Kapaa Town.
