Prior to a career in real estate, he worked at an auction house for seven years at Doyle New York in Manhattan. Matthew became an art expert and worked with many estates and later became a buyer at One Kings Lane in New York. His deep knowledge of art, antiques and connection to the Sotheby's brand started after he attended graduate school at Sotheby's Institute of Art.
