One of the many sellers that Maria Valliades has successfully represented as a professional realtor was a couple in Pelham who were downsizing to a smaller home long after their children had grown and flown. The property was perfect for a young family, but Maria doesn't like to leave anything to chance. Before the first open house, she set up a soccer net and ball on the front lawn so that all prospective buyers would immediately think "a family home" on their way up the driveway.

She got her start in real estate 40 years ago when she was hired to manage luxury high-rise properties in Manhattan. Smart and savvy at 21 years old, she decided to become a property owner too and looked for a partner to invest in a Sutton Place property. She not only inked the deal on the property, but she married her investment partner John.

A resident of Scarsdale for the last 30 years, where she and John raised their two children, Maria embodies "Philoxenia" the Greek word for an act of hospitableness and welcome (she is fluent in Greek). Her pride is in helping buyers find their home in Westchester County and in The Hamptons, and to welcoming them to their new home and community.

A keen photographer who has sold her work in gift shops, Maria has a trained eye for knowing how to set up and capture a visually attractive scene and her advice is invaluable when staging a home for sellers. What makes the difference to her buyers and sellers?
