As a third-generation Austinite, Kay Gourley has experienced Austin's growth first hand. With this knowledge, Kay is able to enhance her client's buying and selling power in every transaction. As a Certified Negotiation Expert and Certified International Property Specialist, Kay is able to meet and exceed all expectations of her clients.
Kay was introduced to Austin's real estate market at an early age. Her mother, a librarian of Doss Elementary for over 30 years, would take her and her brother on “Open House Adventures” every weekend. Kay's father, who worked for Austin's own architect, A.D. Stegner, taught Kay the performance and beauty of a home's architecture. Eventually, her admiration and appreciation of Austin's architecture and real estate grew into a budding passion.
She launched her real estate career at her brother's firm working administration before obtaining her real estate license in 1996. In 2003, Kay received her Broker's license and opened a small boutique agency in central Austin. Throughout her work, Kay developed a keen sense of how to navigate her clients through complicated purchases and keep them focused on the final prize - the home of their dreams.
Over the years, Kay has assisted the Irish delegation to South by South West and became knowledgeable of their needs on both sides of the ocean. This experience led her to a job opportunity in Dublin, Ireland in 2010 as the director of a music management company. In addition, Kay consulted for tech start-ups with platforms for musicians in e-commerce and live streaming. She coordinated the launch of these start-ups with SXSW Interactive which received high accolades. After 4 years in Dublin, Kay returned to Austin to continue her true passion, real estate.
Kay's love of Austin also inspires her philanthropic efforts. She volunteers with Health Alliance for Austin Musicians, serves on the Finance Council Committee for Travis County Democrats, and volunteers at Operation School Bell. After the loss of family members to Alzheimer's Disease, Kay has become an advocate for and member of the Alzheimer's Foundation. As a breast cancer survivor, Kay is a supporter of cancer research and is a dedicated member of Breast Cancer Alliance.
Kay currently lives in central Austin. Her son, Seamus, attended McCallum High School and is now pursuing a degree in actuarial science at Purdue University. They both share a passion for music, travel, delicious food, and experiencing Austin's many festivals.
