Karl Zucconi

Real Estate Professional

With a cross-discipline portfolio of fine estate brokerage, law practice and background in architecture and art, Karl provides essential expertise for clients seeking exquisite hideaways. Karl's interest in fine bricks and mortar piqued as a child exploring Rome's dusty palazzos and churches in the 1970s, and summers visiting his family home in Emilia-Romagna. Inspired by his travels, years later, Karl studied Roman architecture and Baroque Art at the University of Rome and became a real estate agent while a student at Fordham University in New York. As an agent - and broker years later - Karl gained a sensitivity for tricky market cycles and eye for deconstructing hyperbole from fact. Karl deploys those skills today with Sotheby's along with analogue basics: client discretion, an astute design sensibility and sound counsel. With a law practice background in the Caribbean, New York, Connecticut and Miami, Karl's agent knowledge-base extends beyond estate agency. In the Virgin Islands, Karl advised global companies looking to offshore reinsurance risk. In New York, he worked with The Authors Guild, assisting members with publishing contract negotiations. And with prestigious law firms in New York and Miami, Karl litigated complex securities cases and resolved maritime disputes for Caribbean-based clients. Karl is also a published entertainment law author and has advised music and visual artists on contract matters. His analysis, Freedom: Long-Term Recording Agreements and the International Music Industry was a programme reference in King's College University of London course, Legal Regulation of Music Contracts. Karl's eclectic and wide-ranging services are characterized by a passion for detail, analytical problem solving and due diligence. When not sourcing the finest Miami properties for his clients, Karl decamps in New York and the Apennines, Italy where he assists with restoration and design in the local vernacular of an alpino farmhouse and vineyard. Karl graduated from Fordham University, New York and holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Juris Doctorate. He is admitted to the law bars of New York, Florida, Connecticut and the Virgin Islands. As a Sotheby's estate agent, Karl weaves an extensive professional background and skill-set into his uniquely personalised client services.
