Joseph's longtime interest in architecture led him to become president of the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art's Northern California Chapter. Joseph is a past director of the First Tee of San Francisco and is involved with the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, the San Francisco Fall Antiques Show, and the Belvedere Sailing Society. Joseph is an Eagle Scout of the Boy Scouts of America. His personal interests include golf, skiing, cultural affairs, international travel, gourmet cooking, and jazz music. Joseph graduated with an Art History degree from CSU Chico.
