Erika Lara
Real Estate Professional
Erika Lara is a real estate professional with a unique perspective on the industry due to her upbringing and background. Born and raised in the Nation's Capital. She grew up near downtown Thomas Circle and later moved uptown to the Petworth area. She was born to Salvadoran parents who immigrated to the United States to provide a better life for their family and to have the ability of pursuing the American Dream.
Erika grew up observing her parents’ unwavering work ethic and their commitment to providing for their family. From a young age, she internalized the values of perseverance and determination that her parents embodied. Their sacrifices served as a profound source of inspiration for her, fueling her drive to pursue her dreams with relentless tenacity. Erika firmly believes that with hard work, resilience and an unwavering belief in oneself, any goal can be achieved. Her parents’ taught her not only the value of hard work but also the importance of striving for personal growth.
Before entering the real estate industry, Erika gained invaluable experience in the restaurant and healthcare field. From managing fast casual restaurants to working in the Primary care, Neuro and Oncology departments with George Washington Medical to Johns Hopkins at Sibley Hospital. She not only developed a strong work ethic and a passion for helping others. She also learned how to manage complex situations in high-pressure environments. Which in turn has developed an incredible attention to detail and the importance of active listening.
When she's not working, Erika can be found indulging in outdoor activities, exploring new restaurants, or coaching soccer. Her love for soccer began at the age of 14 and carried on as a collegiate athlete with Trinity University in DC. Pursuing a nursing degree at that time then transferring over to Stanford Brown in Tysons, VA and getting her medical assistant degree. Since then, she has honed her skills and expertise in the sport. As a coach, Erika has trained and mentored young female athletes aged 12 to 16 in Montgomery county's MSI league. Erika recognizes that success in both soccer and real estate often relies on the ability to collaborate effectively with others towards a shared objective. Real estate transactions are complex and involve multiple parties, including buyers, sellers, agents, attorneys, and lenders. As such clear communication and effective negotiation skills and the importance of building strong relationships and fostering open lines of communication are essential to ensure a favorable outcome.
Overall, She is proud of her Salvadoran heritage and hopes to inspire others to embrace their own cultural backgrounds and celebrate diversity in all its forms. Her motivation comes from her deep desire to make a positive impact in the world and from the love and support of her family and loved ones.
