Dave Randall

DRE# 01447259

Dave Randall’s story is quite different from other Peninsula realtors. He is not a multi-generational central coast native. Rather, he is the first one in his family to leave the small tobacco farming town in Kentucky with 300 residents serviced by a log cabin, post office and bank. Dave orchestrated his exit at the age of 17 with the assistance of the local Army recruiter. His enlistment in the Army was cut short after graduating the top of his Basic Training class and being immediately offered a chance to become an officer and receive a college education at the University of Kentucky, thus also making him the first generation of his family to attend college. Dave was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Army and sent to Germany, where he was on duty on the Iron Curtain for the fall of the Berlin Wall and the start of Operation Desert Storm. The Army later sent Dave to Boston University to receive his MBA and then to Hawaii. After leaving Hawaii, Dave was assigned duty at the Presidio of Monterey in 1996. He fell in love with the Monterey Peninsula and decided never to leave. Dave worked in finance for a large local resort, and while remodeling his home in Pebble Beach and found a passion for homes and construction. He then started a division of a local construction company that expanded to 60 employees and performed approximately 500 local residential construction projects. In 2004, Dave became a realtor and has been a consistent top-producing agent since. He mentors new agents and teaches best practices and peak producers for his office.

Dave has two sons; Grant, a 2013 graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy who serves in the US Navy Reserve and is the Third Mate of the world’s largest offshore oil well drilling ship. His son, Dean, is a member of the Class of 2018 at the United States Naval Academy.

Dave enjoys running, camping/backpacking and motorcycling. He has been on the Board of Directors for the Big Sur International Marathon for eight years. In addition, he has been the Boy Scout leader for historic Troop 90 in Pacific Grove where he has accumulated a year of camping nights with scouting, thousands of miles of backpacking and proudly has assisted over 50 young men in attaining the rank of Eagle Scout.
